Who am I?
Hey y'all, I'm Emily. Very nice to meet you. I'm a 20 something bibliophile who felt like she needed a place to expand her passion for books. I currently live in the humid state of South Carolina. I'm a newlywed and enjoying my first year of marriage. In between reading anything I can get my hands on I enjoy hanging out with my husband, getting drinks with friends, goofing off with my family, and loving on my black lab, Bowman.
Why beauty and the book?
Let me assure you, it's not because I think I'm necessarily a beauty or that I loved the movie Beauty and the Beast, but because of this:
Luckily, I've found my prince charming (not the beast), but I'm still dreaming of my library and all of the books I can fill it with.
Why a book blog?
I have loved reading for as long as I can remember. I read wherever and whenever I can. I read anything I can get my hands on and am relatively non-discriminatory which makes for a very long TBR list. Jessica Hische once said, "the work you do while you procrastinate is probably the work you should be doing for the rest of your life." I'm not sure how I can just read for the rest of my life (gotta pay those bills) but I think reviewing books is the way to start that journey. I've decided to create this blog for all things book related and to focus some of my reading energy on reviewing the books I've read. I'm not a professional reviewer, I'm not sure I'm even any good, but I'm going to use this space to express my honest opinion on the books I read. Take it or leave it.
